DAYSPRING MBM NEWSLETTER

Thoreau, New Mexico has been a winter wonderland.  I heard someone say that it was the most snow on record.  The snow and freezing temperatures are O.K. but when the snow melts we are left with mud, and that’s a bigger mess than the snow.  We have though, had a blessed winter. The Church has been growing and we generally have several visitors. It has been an experience picking up our kids and the elderly though. For the last couple of months I have had to pick them up in my truck a few at a time. It has been very difficult without a 4X4 van or other four wheel drive vehicle.

The “Faith Bible Institute” course is held at Dayspring and we are making friends and meeting prospects through that. In addition people are growing and dedicating themselves to the daily Bible study.

PRAISE GOD!!! Our building debt stands at $7200.00. It seems like only a short time ago we took on that debt and now it is almost gone. From the bottom of our hearts we thank all the wonderful people that have given of their money, time and talent to be sure that the people here have a good dry, warm and cool place to meet and worship our LORD. The work is tough, but the souls are precious, and GOD remembers what you’ve done.

Our attendance is generally in the high 30’s to mid 40’s.  Travel has been especially difficult for all of us.  Some of our members and regulars don’t get picked up because we just don’t have the transportation to pick them up.

We need a volunteer for our summer Vacation Bible School.  The church that has helped us for the last several years won’t be able to make it this year. Some of the men are going on their mission trip this year and wanted to do a construction trip.  We have a house available from the 3^rd of July through the 9^th of July for $10.00 a day per person.  These houses are very nice, and are just like being at home. They have 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, washer/dryer and kitchen.  All you have to bring is clothes and food.

Please remember to pray for us as we minister to members and families struggling with lots of heartaches and needs. Many people have been adversely affected by the long winter, job and pay cuts, family issues etc. We also have young people in college and the military service.
