DAYSPRING MISSIONARY BAPTIST MISSION
Thoreau, NM
November 2008
November was a great month at Dayspring Missionary Baptist Mission. The weather is beginning to change which brings us inside and closer together. The nights are cold, but our days have been warmer than usual. We have only had a couple small snow showers so far. We know that its coming and that there are many things to attend to before that happens. The men and I are still trying to come up with a time we can gather firewood for our elderly and we need to hurry.
November was a very busy month for us. We traveled to Russellville, AR. and picked up our beautiful new steeple, then to Clarksville, AR. And picked up fall festival gift bags and clothing for our people. We then continued on to Mt. View, AR. to visit with Whitewater MBC. We picked up winter clothing from them, and we were able to attend the State meeting with Brother Phil and Sister Janie Sutton. They and Whitewater put us up and gave us the most wonderful fellowship possible. We love all our friends and thank all of God's people for their hospitality. It was wonderful to see old friends and to make new acquaintances. Thank you to First BC of Cave City, AR. for the hospitality at the State Meeting.
We had our Thanksgiving dinner with a great turnout. The food was exceptional, and we had plenty this year. All our members brought something to share. It seems like that was as hard a thing to get them started on as any other administrative thing. We thank God for their continued growth in the Lord.
The first Navajo Nation’s casino opened on Nov. 19th. The parking lot is always full. And because of high demand, they are considering staying open 24 hrs a day. The poorer get poorer and the rich get richer. Many people will suffer much defeat at the hands of Satan there. Please pray for the Navajo people and for God's guidance in teaching about these things.
Please remember to pray for our sponsoring church Central MBC in Warren, AR. as she searches for a pastor. Please continue to remember Dayspring Mission in your prayers. Pray for lost souls, the building fund and funds to build a fellowship hall/classrooms. When we had our Thanksgiving fellowship, we had people standing to eat.
Among the physical things that are still needed…:
- Construct a 30' x 30' building to be used for classrooms and fellowship.
- Interior work in the parsonage and 2 bedroom house.
- Install metal roof on sanctuary.
- Lay carpet in houses. Carpet was donated and is here.
- Fencing materials to complete the fence around the property.
